International Tabernacle of Prayer was founded in 2009. We are a registered 501(c)(3) Faith- based nonprofit based in Hartford, CT. Our Community Outreach Programs are rooted in the biblical call to serve, as stated in Matthew 25:35-36: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat... I needed clothes and you clothed me."

As neighbors receive their essentials, they are invited to a comfortable seating area where a trained volunteer and leaders of our outreach program (a 'Kingdom Advocate') sits with them to listen to their story. History of Our Community Outreach Programs
Our Community Outreach Programs started with a simple observation and a heavy heart. In 2015, we looked around our neighborhood and saw Specific struggle, e.g., children going to school hungry, seniors feeling isolated. We didn’t have a grand office or a massive budget—all we had was a kitchen table and a belief that no one in our community should have to walk through their basic need struggle alone. We held our first event with nervous excitement, and when the first person walked through the door, we knew: this was the start of something much bigger than ourselves.
Learning the Rhythm of Our Community (2016–2019)
In those early years, we learned that outreach isn't just about "giving"—it’s about listening. We spent our afternoons on porches and our evenings in town halls, truly getting to know the faces behind the numbers. We celebrated the small wins that felt huge: a student’s first "A," a family’s first stable month, a volunteer’s first realization of their own power. These years weren't just about growth; they were about weaving ourselves into the very fabric of this community.
When the World Stood Still (2020–2022)
Then came the quiet of 2020. When the doors of the world closed, our hearts stayed open. We remember the masks, the social distancing, and the uncertainty—but mostly, we remember the resilience. We saw neighbors checking on neighbors from across the street and volunteers working tirelessly to ensure the "new normal" didn't mean "no help." That period reminded us that while our methods might change, our promise is unbreakable. We weren't just a program anymore; we were a lifeline.
Today: A Legacy of Belonging
Walking through our doors today, you’ll see more than just services. You’ll see a community that looks after its own. Since 2015, we have seen children grow into volunteers and those we once helped become the ones leading the way. We are no longer just an organization in the community; we are the community. As we look toward the future, we carry the stories of every person we’ve met along the way—stories of hope, of struggle, and ultimately, of the incredible things that happen when we simply decide to care for one another.
